Undergraduate Residence Halls
    • QUALIFICATIONS

      -UNDERGRADUATE
      (These restrictions are not for undergraduate freshmen, exchange students, re-admitted students for the YEAR)


    • 1) Restriction for Application A. Insufficient GPA : Undergraduate student with an accumulate GPA of lower than 2.3 (This criteria applies to international students only) Accumulated GPA as shown on mySNU webpage - This restriction does not apply to freshmen or those who cannot calculate their accumulate GPA.

      B. Carriers of contagious diseases (Those not vaccinated for tuberculosis, measles, etc.)

      C. The person disciplined with a punishment of terminable suspension or more

      D. Those who have acquired over 6 penalty points (restriction of residency application) within the last 2 years (from the date of application) in Gwanak Residence Halls

      E. Those not studying on Gwanak Campus : students on leave of absence, juniors and seniors in the College of Nursing, students in the regular course of College of Medicine

      F. Others who are judged to be unqualified by the Dean


        - GRADUATE(Including Research Student)


      1) Eligible Applicants

      A. Master’s or Ph. D Students in their Coursework: Current students, incoming students(“freshmen”), and students returning from leave

      B. Students in Master’s-Ph. D Integrated Program : Students under integrated programs that have finished more than three semesters and acquired more than 24 credits(who have qualified as Ph. D students), must check the box(that is below the personal information column) for “Ph. D student” to be regarded as Ph. D students (Master’s students and research students who check this box will be regarded as providing false information and have their residency cancelled)

      C. Full-time Research Students
      - Students that have completed the regular course and are registering for full-time research to submit their thesis.

      - Gwanak Residence Halls only accepts full-time research students (Those who comply to the “Regulations for SNU Graduate School Research Students” that also spend more than five days a week on campus for their theses and hold no other job).

      - Research students must check the box for “Research Student” (under personal information). (Previous research student will be reflected automatically.) (Not checking this box will be regarded as providing false information, and will result in cancellation of residency)

      - Freshmen or current students should take care not check the box for research students and prevent any disadvantage.

      - Accepted students should submit ‘Certificate of Full-time Research Student’(refer to the attached file)

      - If you don’t register for research student(not paying for tuition fee), you should vacate your room.

      2) Restriction for Application
      (These restrictions are not for Graduate freshmen, exchange students for the YEAR)


      A. Carriers of contagious diseases (Those not vaccinated for tuberculosis, measles, etc.)

      B. Those who has been disciplined beyond suspension

      C. Those who have acquired over 6 penalty points (restriction of residency application) within the last 2 years (from the date of application) in Gwanak Residence Halls

      D. Those who do not study in Gwanak Campus: a student on leave, non full-time student, and medical student on the main course

      E. Others who are judged to be unqualified by the Dean
Students with priority
    • When satisfying the move in application requirements but students with disability are not restricted by GPA and location criteria
      Undergraduate, Graduate student
      • Disabled students under [Welfare Law for the Handicapped]
